OQ Technology, a world leading 5G NTN satellite operator, and Dutch telecom provider KPN have announced a strategic roaming partnership.
This collaboration enables KPN customers to seamlessly connect to OQ’s satellite network, unlocking global 5G IoT coverage across land and sea.
“Our partnership truly reaches for the stars by combining OQ Technology’s Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite constellation with KPN’s robust terrestrial and GEO networks. This collaboration extends KPN’s roaming footprint beyond traditional boundaries, bridging the gap in global connectivity, even in the most remote and challenging environments, from polar regions to oceans. It’s a game-changer for industries such as maritime, logistics, energy, and agriculture,” explains Jeffrey Rosink, Commercial Roaming Manager at KPN.
Relying exclusively on GEO satellite constellations can result in coverage limitations that impact service reliability and customer experience. OQ’s LEO satellites provide global coverage, delivering high-performance connectivity even in challenging regions such as the polar areas and remote oceanic routes beyond 70 degrees latitude, as well as in environments where access to the equatorial sky is obstructed.
“This partnership with KPN is another step toward our vision of making 5G IoT truly global,” says Omar Qaise, Founder and CEO of OQ Technology.
“Our LEO satellites provide seamless coverage even at extreme latitudes and across oceanic routes, areas where other technologies fall short. This makes our solution a perfect match for KPN’s customers, especially those in maritime and international logistics.”
Together, we deliver sustainable and reliable connectivity for KPN’s customers, supporting uninterrupted IoT data flows beyond terrestrial borders while boosting operational efficiency, safety, and environmental resilience.
