Links Field announces global launch of SGP.32 eSIM for IoT and M2M

Global connectivity, cost reduction, more security, and sustainability for companies in different sectors

Links Field, a global connectivity solutions provider, announces the international launch of its GSMA-certified SGP.32 eSIM solution, aiming to drive the transformation of the Internet of Things (IoT) and machine-to-machine (M2M) communications.

The new solution eliminates the reliance on physical SIM cards. It enables the activation and remote management of telecommunications profiles and services, offering greater convenience, security, and operational efficiency for businesses worldwide.

The technology enables cost reduction, simplification of logistics processes, greater security, and global connectivity. The SGP.32 eSIM has special appeal in IoT devices without screens or cameras, such as sensors, trackers, wearables, automobiles, and industrial equipment. The solution has essential components that enable its operation, such as the eUICC (Embedded Universal Integrated Circuit Card), which stores and manages operator profiles securely within the device; the IoT Profile Assistant (IPA), which facilitates communication between the eUICC and the remote provisioning servers; eIM (eSIM IoT Remote Manager), responsible for downloading, authenticating and securing profiles; and SM-DP+, which reliably prepares and delivers carrier profiles.

Gary Wong, Global COO of Links Field, said: “This is a milestone for the company and for global connectivity. The SGP.32 eSIM allows companies to operate on a global scale, with flexibility and sustainability, in line with the demands of an increasingly connected digital ecosystem.”

In addition to the technological infrastructure, the solution provides strategic benefits to the market. From a logistical perspective, it eliminates the physical distribution of SIM cards, reduces operating expenses, and enables greater agility in global distribution. In terms of security, it prevents the physical removal of the chip and allows for remote locking of the device.

On the connectivity side, the eSIM automatically connects to local profiles, eliminating the need for international roaming. There is also a highlight for its sustainable nature, by reducing the use of disposable materials, and for its operational flexibility, since it allows activating or deactivating services remotely without the need for human intervention (to change the physical SIM Card, for example), meeting the growing demands of sectors such as transportation, health, and agribusiness.

The Co-founder and CEO of Links Field Brazil, Thiago Rodrigues, highlights: “The global launch of the SGP.32 eSIM reinforces our commitment to bringing innovation and convenience to the IoT market, allowing companies from different sectors to expand their ability to connect devices efficiently and securely.”

The SGP.32 eSIM opens new opportunities for large-scale applications. In the automotive industry, it enables seamless connectivity in vehicles, predictive maintenance, and remote updates; in health, it allows remote monitoring of patients and real-time data transmission; in smart cities, it facilitates the integration of traffic sensors, bright street lighting, water, gas and energy meters; and in the means of payment sector, it enables more secure, compact and efficient POS devices.

Marcos Betiolo, CTO of Links Field Brazil, adds:

“Our full-stack solution is designed to simplify the mass deployment of IoT devices, creating an infrastructure that keeps up with technological evolution, while reducing costs and strengthening security.”
